WHAT IS A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY?

Based on what we read in Acts 2:42-47, church was not what happened on Sundays but what the people of God lived out during the week IN community. We believe this is the foundation of our ministry at True Hope Collister.

We desire to be a group of people who have committed to live like family, serve one another and their community like Jesus, and are on mission together in the everyday moments.

Family

Our new identity as a believer starts with this idea that we have been adopted into a family when understand and believe what Jesus did on the cross.

As a group we want you to wrestle with what it means to be a family together. Do you eat together regularly, do you know each others stories, do you celebrate and mourn together life circumstances?

Servant

As a group grows it is only natural for them to begin to serve one another. When needs come up and are shared we want to encourage and equip groups to help meet the needs of those in their community.

This could look like providing meals when someone is sick, praying with each other regularly, providing babysitting, etc.

Missionary

God never intended for us to go out by ourselves and reach the world. He has given us the best tool and that is the church. We don’t want mercenaries for God, we want groups of people on mission together within our community. We want everyone to start by loving those God has already placed in your life. The purpose of the Gospel is to make disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus to fill the earth with God’s glory.
